(Reuters) - South Africa's rand was trapped in a tight band versus the dollar on Monday in a quiet session lacking fresh market news and traders said the unit would likely be rangebound in the next few sessions.
The rand was trading at 6.9690 at 1520 GMT, about 0.23 percent firmer than its last New York close of 6.9850 on Friday. It firmed to 6.9565 earlier.
