Waddell & Reed posts quarterly profit

(Reuters) - Analysts had expected profit of 37 cents a share, before
items, according to Reuters Estimates.




In the year-ago quarter, two one-time charges -- one for a
regulatory settlement and the other to pay costs at one of its
subsidiaries, led to the loss.
