Calpine, Compuware, Equity Inns, J.M. Smucker, Sonic: U.S. Equity Movers

(Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies
whose shares are having unusual price changes in U.S. exchanges
today. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names.
Share prices are as of 10:15 a.m. New York time.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD US) gained 31 cents, or 2.3
percent, to $13.95. The second-largest maker of personal-computer
processors after Intel Corp. (INTC US) was upgraded to ``short-
term trading buy'' from ``hold'' by Stifel Nicolaus analyst Cody
Acree, who wrote that the company may have increased market share
by ``at least a couple of percentage points'' while second-
quarter revenue may exceed analysts' forecasts.

U.S. Stocks Rally, S&P 500 Rises Most in Eight Weeks; GM, Alcoa Pace Gains

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks rallied and the
Standard and Poor's 500 Index posted its best weekly gain
since April after bond yields fell from a five-year high
and the Federal Reserve said the economy is growing without
fueling inflation.

General Motors Corp., Alcoa Inc. and Intel Corp.
helped push the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average to
within 0.5 percent of records. Exxon Mobil Corp., the
world's largest oil company, led energy shares to the best
gain among 10 industry groups in the S&P 500 as crude
prices climbed to the highest since September.

U.S. Stocks Rally After Measure of Consumer Prices Slows; Intel Advances

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks rallied for a third day
after a measure of consumer prices increased less than forecast
in May, easing concern inflation will spur higher interest
rates.

Intel Corp., the world's biggest maker of computer chips,
gained after Goldman Sachs encouraged investors to buy the
shares. Home Depot Inc., the largest home-improvement retailer,
advanced on prospects of a $10 billion offer for its contractor-
supplies business.
