US STOCKS-Indexes add to gains on consumer confidence

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was up 126.89
points, or 0.95 percent, at 13,485.20. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was up 12.93 points, or 0.88 percent, at
1,486.84. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 21.79
points, or 0.84 percent, at 2,605.07.

S&P hits record as GE, data boost stocks

(Reuters) -The S&P 500 index climbed to a record on Friday, surpassing levels reached during the Internet bubble, as General Electric Co. increased a stock-buyback plan and data showed improving consumer sentiment.

The Dow Jones industrial average was up 45.52 points, or 0.33 percent, to end unofficially at 13,907.25. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 4.80 points, or 0.31 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,552.50. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 5.27 points, or 0.20 percent, to close unofficially at 2,707.00.

US STOCKS-Wall St opens lower on profit warnings

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 48.53
points, or 0.36 percent, at 13,601.44. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 7.65 points, or 0.50 percent, at
1,524.20. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 14.65
points, or 0.55 percent, at 2,655.37.

US STOCKS-Indexes edge lower at open; oil, rates rise

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 40.57
points, or 0.30 percent, at 13,536.73. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 2.44 points, or 0.16 percent, at
1,522.43. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 1.03
points, or 0.04 percent, at 2,643.92.

Wall St set to edge up, service sector report eyed

(Reuters) - U.S. financial markets were closed on Wednesday for the Independence Day holiday. On Tuesday, U.S. stocks gained in a shortened session, lifted by fresh takeover talk.




The Dow Jones industrial average closed up 0.31 percent, at 13,577.30, on Tuesday. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index rose 0.36 percent, to finish at 1,524.87, while the Nasdaq Composite Index gained 0.48 percent to end at 2,644.95.

US STOCKS-Indexes extend gains after factory data

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was up 91.37
points, or 0.68 percent, at 13,499.99. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was up 11.55 points, or 0.77 percent, at
1,514.90. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 21.70
points, or 0.83 percent, at 2,624.93.
