ServiceMaster, Ceridian, First Data Plan Sales: U.S. Corporate Bond Alert

(Bloomberg) -- ServiceMaster Co., the owner of the
TrueGreen lawn care and Terminix pest control businesses, and
Ceridian Corp. are among borrowers seeking to raise at least
$54.3 billion of bonds in the U.S., according to data compiled by
Bloomberg.

Companies sold $129.5 in bonds in June, compared with $146.5
billion in May. Sales year-to-date total $666.7 billion, up from
$553.1 billion a year ago.

Ceridian shareholder opposes takeover deal

(Reuters) - Ceridian agreed last month to be bought by private equity
firm Thomas H. Lee Partners and insurance company
Fidelity National Financial Inc. for $36 per share, or
$5.3 billion.




In a regulatory filing, Pershing Square said the deal is
"suboptimal" for Ceridian stockholders.

U.S. Stocks Rise on Takeovers; A.G. Edwards, Ceridian Shares Lead Advance

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks extended their record-
breaking rally after A.G. Edwards Inc. and Ceridian Corp. agreed
to be acquired, adding to this year's unprecedented pace of
takeovers.

A.G. Edwards rose to an all-time high after Wachovia Corp.
agreed to buy the company for about $6.84 billion in cash and
stock in the biggest acquisition of a U.S. brokerage firm in
almost seven years. Ceridian advanced to a six-year peak after
Thomas H. Lee Partners LP and Fidelity National Financial Inc.
purchased the provider of payroll and human resources services
for $5.3 billion.
