UPDATE 1-RealNetworks profit falls

(Reuters) - Second-quarter net income was $1.3 million, or 1 cent per
diluted share, compared with $38.9 million, or 22 cents per
diluted share, in the year-ago period.




In the year-ago quarter, the company benefited from the
proceeds of a $57.9 million settlement of litigation against
Microsoft and commercial agreements with the world's largest
software maker.

Web business strategy focus of Microsoft meeting

(Reuters) - Microsoft's top executives plan to update investors about every facet of the $50 billion software maker's business, from its bread-and-butter Windows and Office franchises to its Xbox game console unit, at its annual analyst meeting on Thursday.




But the company's smallest business division -- online services -- may garner the most attention, because it poses both the greatest opportunity for growth and the biggest risk of failure.

Microsoft Q4 profit rises despite Xbox charge

(Reuters) - The company had warned earlier this month that it would
incur a charge of up to $1.15 billion in the quarter ended in
June to fix an "unacceptable" number of Xbox 360 repairs and
offer a new extended warranty to customers.




Shares of Microsoft have risen 6 percent in the year to
date, compared to a 10 percent gain in the S&P 500 during the
period.

ING's Garcia Seeks `Unpopular' Stocks for Biggest Philippine Equity Fund

(Bloomberg) -- Paul Joseph Garcia runs the largest
equity fund in the Philippines, where the market is so small that
the value of stocks bought and sold in a day, $83 million, is
only 5 percent that of Microsoft Corp.'s turnover.

He has to be careful his trades don't influence share
prices, since big orders have a disproportionate effect in a
thinly traded market, Garcia said. His 6.7 billion-peso ($146
million) Philippine Equity Fund is twice as large as the
country's No. 2 fund. It also can be hard to find buyers or
sellers for large purchases.

UPDATE 1-Savvis cuts '07 revenue view; prepays $342.5 mln debt

(Reuters) - Microsoft has been the sole customer in the data centers
under a colocation contract due to expire at the end of 2010.
This contract generated about $16.5 million of revenue for the
first half of 2007, the telecommunications carrier said.




For 2007, the company now sees total revenue of $805
million to $820 million, down from its prior view of $820
million to $835 million. Analysts on average expect $827.6
million, according to Reuters Estimates.

Microsoft expects Google complaint over desktop fix

(Reuters) - A spokesman for Microsoft told Reuters that lawyers representing Google had indicated a complaint would be filed shortly before U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, the judge overseeing Microsoft's 2002 antitrust consent decree.
